Show Me State Signs

Traveling, scrawling, but I thought you might like these signs from a road trip through Missouri.
Wednesday, we will observe some mid-flight flirting. I watched the whole encounter with a grin and a pen. I’ll also try to take more pictures of people in the next few months. Any tips on how to do so without feeling like I’m stealing souls would be welcome advice. 🙂
See you soon,
-Paige

Peculiar missouri

It’s in Missouri. City of Peculiar.

Great signs. Taking pictures of people is tricky. I tend to stay far back. One can always zoom and crop later. I also ask permission especially if it is of a child and a grown up is with them. Some say no and that’s OK.

I agree, I’ll respect the “No” if I get it. I sometimes would ask people if I could take their picture, and they often changed so much. Perhaps the best way to do it is to shoot while they haven’t had the chance to notice and beg forgiveness if they get upset. Or run. 😀

I just love the word peculiar. It is really peculiar that there is a town called Peculiar! 😀

Right!? I had to pull off the highway and tour through Peculiar. Would you want to be treated at the “Peculiar Medical Center”? 🙂

I agree, M-R. When your city has an odd name, I suppose it is best to embrace it! 😀

I like the mental image of them sitting around in some meeting room deciding what to call their town …

“Well, Bob grew up here and he’s…how can we describe Bob…he’s ‘Peculiar.’ Let’s go with that.”

There are definitely some interesting town names in Missouri. I like the name Tightwad, Missouri.

Lol Vanbraman, okay, I should have toured more of the state. 🙂 Maybe I’ll do a roadtrip and take more photos to update this post when I’m stateside.

Love the pictures too and having family in Missouri (who at one point lived in a town called Fairplay) and thus I feel an affection for the area. Also the westernmost point in the USA I’ve been and I’m praying for the town where those divisive riots took place.

PopArt, I have been thinking about Missouri as well with the riots.
I guess one day you’ll have to get to Colorado so I can take you on a tour and you can force me to sing some karaoke. 🙂 Thanks for coming by the blog, my friend. Miss you with the time difference!

Strange signs…? And advice from me here is impossible. I’m too shy to ask so I use a looong lens…

🙂 This may be the best option. Of course, I don’t have much in the way of zoom. Shoot and try to go unnoticed perhaps.
