The Nice Thing About Strangers

Creative Non-Fiction Short Stories. :) Travel, Oldsters, Love, and Compassion.

The Notebook, Journaling, and the Good Habit of Scrawling

I have been searching my pockets for my mislaid notebook. This notebook of mine contains some remarkable entries: Underlined! My sickness is underlining important things; there is almost nothing but underlined things in this notebook…

-Thomas Bernhard. Gargoyles.

Much of the work from this blog is from notebooks I kept during my travels. It’s been a delight to share some of these brief passages and stories with you. Thank you, Readers, for all of your support!

Here’s to more ambitious seeking of nice things in 2014! Happy New Year, my friends!

I have notebooks that are full of this commentary, and I had to go through and mark things: “NTAS,” if they suit. These days, the positive stories come to me simply because I am looking for them, somehow. Before, I have a lot of inwardness and anxiety that seems to have been a distraction. 🙂

Happy New Year, Joanne! Thank you personally for all of your kindness and your support this year! 🙂

      Hugs,
      Paige

I’ll be following you so I can learn more about your reflections, Wildflower. I was having the same liking problem earlier today. I appreciate the comment.
      Happy 2014! 🙂

Happy New Year! I, too, keep a journal and I go nuts when I cannot find it.

Notebooks have been my favorite travel companions! (Oh. Sorry to my brother, Carolyn, Alyson, and Megan–the only other people who have braved a trip with me.) 🙂
      Happy New Year, Melissa!
