Creative Non-Fiction Short Stories. :) Travel, Oldsters, Love, and Compassion.
Last year, I posted the most frequent search terms that led people to my blog. It used to seem quite random–for example, “Chuck Norris Drowns a guy in Rice” led a reader to me. I’m not sure if that person is a regular. (Hope so!)
These days I am finding a set of themes that may be a nice way to sum up what happens around here, and what’s happened with me in the last few years. Maybe you’ll also see the theme in ten of my favorite English-language items that were typed into search engines, which guided them to The Nice Thing About Strangers. I’ve also included some links to potentially correlative stories, though #5 is a staple of my tales and there are far, far too many to link.
Here we go:
10. was sundance kid nice
9. two blonde dogs cross my path
8. turkish barber in vienna
7. iceland looks like the moon
6. cheer up buttercup response
5. smiling at strangers
4. falling in and out of love
3. I want to tell you something but…
2. turkish love poems when things are tough
And the number one search term that absolutely made my day:
1. Cute old person long love story
I`m not sure how I “find” you or what was the theme, but I think it was after the reading of your words – you can tell stories like we were sitting at the same table and it sounds so familiar, so good, so real…
Greets
Maccabros
and by the way – all your themes are more than WORTH to read…
I always like going through my search terms. It is very interesting to see how people find my blog. Especially since I wander all over the place with my content 🙂
I love this new picture you have posted! It would make a great cover photo! It’s very modern.
Thanks! It’s the back of my business card. 🙂
Interesting post – and I believe people will find you because you are so good at what you do. Of course being aware is important too…And I love your Suburbia theme – perfect for you! Hope you are satisfied with it!
Thank you so much for the compliment! 🙂
I agree that the new theme is working pretty well. There are a few elements that bug me, but I like that for each country, and for each page, people can see the pics and titles. Makes me want to finally take the photos more seriously!
Well, that’s some of the fun with blogging – there’s always something to work on more! I should work on the writing part…when I finally find the time…
WordPress recommended your blog to me.
I love search terms. Some of them are so utterly random 😀 My top one is just the name of my blog though.
It can be instructive to see what comes up in a search, and sometimes it makes me wonder: now how in the heck did I cover THAT? 🙂 How cool that the blog was recommended. Thanks for checking me out! I’ll do the same.
