Once the light turns green, the silver SUV blasts off, only to come to a halt at the next stoplight. This catches the attention of others on the road, who note the words written on all the windows.
“Just Married” is scrawled along the back window. Neighbors who see the sides of the car can find, “YES, WE’RE OLD” in all caps.
If one has a good view, coming up from behind, drawing by the side, and stopping next to this car at one of dozen stoplights before the Interstate, you could get a better picture of the scene. You could see the driver and his passenger. A puff of gray hair behind the wheel, a stream of gray mane in the passenger seat. They are what they have advertised, and they are grinning like schoolchildren. They smooch after they stop. She turns to wave at a sedan full of teenagers as her proud husband revs the engine. The newlyweds scream away when the light turns green, leaving everyone in the dust, beaming at this storybook love.

Advice for the young at heart
Soon we will be older
When we gonna make it work?
Love is promise
Love is a souvenir
Once given
Never forgotten, never let it disappear
This could be our last chance
When we gonna make it work?
Working hour is over
And how it makes me weep
Cos someone sent my soul to sleep
And when I think of you and all the love that’s due
I’ll make a promise, I’ll make a stand
Cos to these big brown eyes, this comes as no surprise
We’ve got the whole wide world in our hands …
Tears for Fears
