The artist is learning a special language in which to reveal truth. If you write, write from the heart, yet carefully, objectively. Never pose. Write little things which you think are true. Then you may sometimes find that they are beautiful as well.
–Iris Murdoch. The Black Prince.
Headless seems to appeal to me the most. (Mom nods and directs me to recall my dating history…) 😀
I agree with Iris!
She’s so inspiring for me. I love her work and often find just the line I need for the present situation. 🙂
Have a great week–
some good restoration! I still find the ‘before’ more photogenic…..
Lisa, I thought they worked pretty well as a metaphor too. 🙂 I agree that “Before” makes me pause, and I only stopped for “After” because I realized what I had seen a few years ago. 🙂
Love the wise quote from Iris Murdoch!
I have a document where I’ve saved my favorite lines from books I’ve read in the last 10 years. (Wow, ten years now…) Iris takes up a LOT of space in the middle. 🙂
I love the Iris Murdoch quote (and the allusion to your mom’s reaction to your dating history…lol).
Question: Where were these before and after photos taken?
