Potential (and Shelf Life)

Over there [in America] you think of nothing but becoming President of the United States some day. Potentially every man is Presidential timber.

American food, Germany grocery

The American section in a German grocery store. Any readers with similar photos to share? I’d love to see if Pop-Tarts are universally exported. (Hat tip: Clayton Lovett)

Who would have thought that of pop tarts, if I were in Germany that would be the last thing I ate for breakfast! 🙂 We have a store that offers German imports and that is where you will find me. Anyway it will be interesting to see other countries that sell pop tarts. I wonder if they are popular.

    • They aren’t even selling Cinnamon-Brown Sugar! 🙂 I agree. I would much rather see an aisle of cereal, but I also love the presence of Baking Soda. It’s fun to see what must sell elsewhere (and for quite a mark up!)

I noticed that too – it is interesting!

Is that what the store has because they think Americans like it and it sits there or because they do, and it sells?

    • Or maybe this is how the Germans get exotic? I can’t imagine anyone really craving “cheese sauce,” but you never know, right? 😀

Interesting that they have an “American section”. We get some imports here but they’re stocked by genre alongside the Japanese brands.

    Alas, no Pop Tarts here.

    • Meh. If you want some, I could send them in an envelope. 🙂 I think that’s one processed food item that I can live without.

I saw Pop Tarts in Muscat, Oman.

    • Such a bizarre export! Of all the things in the store, this would not be one I’d expect to find readily available. Perhaps I have underestmiated the sway of Kellogg’s!
