Don’t Quit Your Day Job

Writing was the sole activity of his life, but not his sole happiness. He knew he had to work like everybody else. He could enjoy doing other work. Yes, if it provided a livelihood, he could do any kind of work. Looking at the world, so to speak, actually seeing the world in its true guise, gave him great pleasure.

I adore Orhan Pamuk. Have you ever read The Black Book?

I have! The Black Book was my favorite so far. Less salacious than Museum of Innocence, so better for my puritanical sensibilities. (But conflicting since I lived a few blocks away from his museum…)

I loved it too! It was dense but really thought-provoking.

I’m with catbird about The Black Book. It’s quite lovely. I hope to re-read Snow this winter. I can’t remember it well. So if that’s better, you’ll be notified. 🙂

I would love to quit my day job. Alternatively: get an interesting day job.

Your short stories are enjoyable and refreshing to read! Glad you liked the ‘sign holders’ joke on my blog. I’m not great with jokes, but this one fit in with what I’ve been posting. Thanks for visiting http://heulu.wordpress.com
God bless you in your stranger encounters!
