My mother’s flower gardens in the fall. Her father was a farmer and often raised fields of flowers for seeds. She grows flowers to give (I frequently see her cutting blooms for friends, for people who are ill, or in nursing homes). Mom loves to give garden tours, loves sharing the delight of effort in bloom. A tour of the garden from late September, pardon my faulty photography. I hope you still get the idea.

I’ll catch her in the spring as well. Something to look forward to next year, I guess. Perhaps I’ll take a photography class first…

What a lovely perspective! She has put in a lot of work–dahlias must be planted and dug up every year and kept indoors for the winter, for example! To me, it’s a marvel!

Wow, love really does grow in a garden so personal–it is palpable. This garden is sublime. My mother’s father was also an agriculturalist–everyone in her family really had the love of gardening, cultivating and creating. I’m so glad you directed me here.
