Postcard for Addy #2: Budapest and Vienna

Dear Addy,

Greetings, dear niece of mine.Β  I’ll see you soon (just in time for your 6th birthday!), but I wanted to share a few more pictures from my trip. I know we’ll go to all of these places someday–or maybe you’ll travel solo, which has been so nourishing for me. Anyway, a few lessons, some Auntie-advice, and a few scenes from Budapest and Vienna to make you smile.

Budapest, travel photos

Even statues can get bored, but humans don’t ever have to stay bored. Curiosity brings life to life. (Budapest)

scuba diving, Vienna, Austria, travel photos
Even in landlocked countries, people enjoy adventures. And any activity that requires a lot of gear. (Vienna)

Wienerschnitzel, Dernye, Budapest, food
Schnitzel. Here’s a twist, it’s a Vienna treat, but this one is in Budapest. When you travel someday, remember that sharing a meal with a dear friend makes any flattened, breaded meat even better.

Budapest, Hungary, travel photos, tourism

Beautiful, right? We’ll go here one day. (Budapest)

segway tour, Vienna, tourism, rain

Segway scooters do apparently function in the rain, but there still may be a risk of shock. Let’s not test that. (Vienna)

graffiti, Vienna, Austria

Do remember that I love you–but never forget that this zebra didn’t spell “Remember” correctly. (Vienna)

Big hugs–
Aunt Paige

Thanks, I love that zebra too! I tried to go around the city and see what Addy might see, but that takes a lot of imagination. Plus, she collects rocks and I thought a postcard full of the rocks of Europe may not be as interesting to readers… πŸ™‚

I think we’ll need to do a day out somewhere here in the States so we can start early! Thanks for reading the postcards.

Love your photos, especially the quirky one of the person in a lot of gear in Vienna.

Re; Vienna treat in Budapest – well, they used to be in one country πŸ™‚ Here in the South of Poland we also share a great deal of things with Austria πŸ™‚

Excellent point! I took my first trip to Europe with a dear friend who is a veritable European encyclopedia. He could tell me about every ruler, artistic movement, and dietary trade. πŸ™‚ When I’m alone, I always need a review!

I had some delicious schnitzel last evening! These pictures are really great (especially the diver!).

I love the Zebra! If I had it my way our house would be filled with Zebra print, my hubby on the other hand is not too keen on the idea. Found you via WP’s Focus on Expat Blogs. You’ve found a new follower, I’m looking forward to more from you!

Thanks so much! I’m glad you found your way here. I like that you’re willing to honor your husband’s wishes, but perhaps a zebra sitting room? πŸ™‚ Welcome!
